You also see a secondary explosion obscured by the initial hit (just off to the right of the main boom you see another boom that appears to burn slow and hot as the cloud from it is sustained at ground level while clearly rising quickly and merging with the main cloud) 0:08

The strikes were reportedly carried out by the Ukrainian army with the use of Storm Shadow missiles on the Balaklavsky thermal power plant and the territory of the military unit.

I know only 2 explainations for such a smoke ring, either a transformer or a high velocity explosive going off...but it seems too big for a transformer and not the typical blue light that turns a night into day for miles.

To make a vortex ring like that requires a pretty rapid release of energy after the initial explosion. Something like ordinance cooking off as a secondary explosion.
