A Portrait of the American Dream premieres.

Through a film curated, directed, and produced by HBCU alumni, experience the formation of historically Black colleges and universities and their resounding impact on American culture, embodied in the lives and legacies of their students.

Through the voices of students, faculty, and alumni of @Morehouse1867 and @Spelman_College, the film explores style as a means of inspiration and aspiration, empowerment of community and self, and a tool of resistance — and reveals the making of the Polo Ralph Lauren Exclusively for Morehouse and Spelman Colleges campaign.

As a college educated African American woman, thank you Ralph Lauren for being a major brand and drawing attention to Black colleges through the art of fashion! This shines a spotlight on our colleges in an indirect way! I am so proud because I am an alumni of an HBCU! Additionally, it's a wonderful thing to draw attention to the fashion of the time period that you're trying to relay the story about. I love this collection!! These young men are wearing the clothes that my 99-year-old grandfather(when he passed in 2013, a month before his 100th birthday) wore when he was 10 and 11 years old back in the day. Grandpa looked dapper even though that was his everyday clothing!

This Isn’t just a fashion campaign it’s HISTORY! Combining the two was genius! The fashion during that particular era was lit! The participation of faculty and students to model and speak about Morehouse & Spelman’s history added a special touch to this video!

I like RL as a brand and after watching this documentary my respect for the RL, the designer, has grown a hundred-fold. Only a deep, thoughtful soul and a good-natured humanbeing would have appreciated the black aesthetics in the older days which has sigificantly influenced the good, sensible style we have today.

Love the Holiday's gift and the understanding. I always comprehended the Black American that came from beyond the 1800's to today; the educated and the rich. They were given an education, innovation, evolution, opportunities and a way to grow regardless of adversities; to be the a healthy/wealthy communities. Those are the ONES you don't know and hardly see today.
How can 3 centuries not be noticed by their humanities?
