also, one more question - I read the documentation on the map range node, which seems pretty easy to understand already. However, I'm a bit confused as to why we decreased the minimum and maximum values in the 'from' position. Visually I can see we get more subtlety using this vs ramp, but the math is stumping me. We go from zero/black on min to less than zero, and from 1/white on max to less than 1, with our 'To' values being untouched. Have you, in essence, remapped the entire grayscale? How do we end up with subtlety like this when we are starting with values below zero? Sorry if that's odd wording.

When you used the mix color and map range nodes to add the color to the salmon, could you have done the same thing with a color ramp node instead? if so what's the difference?
