For those readers still having an issue, (with the engine off) turn the screw clockwise and count the number of turns to where it stops. Then take the screw out all the way and spray some carburetor or similar cleaner into the screw hole. Clean the screw and reinsert it to the same number of turns it was originally. Then remove the large intake hose from the air cleaner and clean out the front of the throttle body as best you can... even if you have to open the butterfly by manually pulling (or pushing) on the accelerator cable. If you are still having issues check the timing and then the timing belt alignment... that is if you have already ruled out issues with plugs, rotor, distributor cap and plug wires. In addition, check the air filter.

And just when I thought I had covered most of the needed points to address, yesterday I worked on a 1990 Toyota Motor Home whose V-6 had a stubbornly difficult-to-identify idle problem. It turns out that the O-ring on the air-mixture screw was deteriorated and needed replacement. I had a box of metric O-rings from Harbor freight and found that #011 was a good fix.

Wtf... I didn't even know it had something like that. Weird, you'd normally see something like that on a dirtbike carb. A lot better using that than fucking with adjusting the cable. Thanks for the tip!

Before watching your video I replace the idle body and continue with same issue high idle. Thanks I fix it with your advice.

Worked! Thanks. Mine was backed out 3 whole turns. Was idling at 1200-1300 rpm after warmed up.

I have the opposite issue at the moment with my 93 4Runner, once it gets warm it will idle at less than 500 rpm.... in other words right on the edge of stalling.
The interesting thing is that even though it idles that slow, there is no roughness or shaking. Will try to adjust idle speed using this method once the engine is nice and warm.

I did this before, but it only works for cold start, when the engine warms up, the idle rpm decreases and goes below 500 and struggles to keep running. If anyone has any helpful advice on that, it would be so nice.
