'I'm Scared For Nigerians In South Africa' Mariam Reacts To The Tussle Btw Nigeria And South Africa

On Thursday morning, the online clash between Nigerians and South Africans escalated as both sides engaged in a new battle of supremacy.

Citizens from both countries started ordering e-hailing drivers from each other's countries and canceling the rides when the drivers arrived. South Africans initially led by ordering Bolt and Uber drivers in Nigeria, only to cancel once the drivers reached their pick-up locations. In retaliation, Nigerians did the same to South African drivers.

PUNCH Online's social media check on Thursday revealed that ‘South African’ and ‘Bolt’ were trending on X.com in Nigeria. Nigerians were seen rallying on the platform, encouraging each other to book rides in South Africa to demonstrate their numbers.

Others mocked South Africans for starting a conflict they couldn’t win, given Nigeria’s large population of approximately 200 million people.
