Martin 1954 D-28 Conversion to 30's Specifications.

Here's a look at a mid-1950's Martin D-28 that's been converted to a late 1930's -spec version. The work was done back in 2012, and this is the first look that we've has at the guitar since then.

The interesting question for me is: what made the old top so incredible thin? Was it a spike in quality? In case it is, I would have expected this quality spike more on the Gibson side... €8-)
