Gisele Bundchen Reveals Why She Divorced Tom Brady After 13 Years of Marriage

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen has officially filed for divorce from star athlete Tom Brady.

They had one of Hollywood’s most iconic celebrity marriages but under the surface, Gisele was dealing with so much: Tom got another woman pregnant, publicly humiliated Gisele, and left his wife to raise their kids alone. At one point Gisele even considered taking her own life.

After years of asking Tom to put their family first, Gisele gave Tom an ultimatum but only 40 days later, he went back on his promise and blew up his marriage.

It's sad that Tom doesn't see his family as a priority. He probably shouldn't have married and had kids. I know what it is like to move away from family, give up my own medical career and dreams and raise kids practically by myself in order to support my husband so that he could pursue his dreams. The difference was his vocation couldn't support us financially, so I also had to work full time at a job I hated to support the family. After 27 years, our kids were grown, we were finally out of debt, and I thought finally I could now pursue a career I enjoy and have time to reconnect with my husband and maybe save to buy a house, but then he announced he was going back to school to study theology, simply because it interests him. So now all our savings are going toward his tuition, and again, he has no time for family. At least I found a new job that I enjoy, but I totally get why Giselle pulled the plug. It's not ego, just self- respect. If your own husband doesn't respect you or your kids enough to make them a priority, he doesn't deserve to have them.

He's a classic narcissist, you can tell by how he even kisses her, it's incredibly obvious. Just listen to how he talks, it's all about himself... me, me, me. She seems to have wanted a real relationship that was somewhat equal in making sacrifices, both compromising to build a happy family and a genuinely emotionally fulfilling partnership. No, this isn't about her ego in the least, that's just certain types of people trying to inflict old patterns of toxic types of relationships into the 2020s, that's not going to work with intelligent women in today's world if they have any self-esteem and self-respect. He can't stand being out of the spotlight and the thought of not being a star, doesn't have any other interests or ideas in how to move on from football, or self-development moving forward. She got tired of waiting for him to evolve and grow with her. Good for her to come to the realization that they just weren't going to grow together and that she was in an incredibly toxic relationship... and God only knows what went on behind those closed doors. For anyone who's ever been involved with any narcissist, it's all fun and games in the beginning, they're very charming at first, then the mask starts to slip and you see what's behind it... supreme selfishness and no regard for the partner whatsoever... and it deteriorates more and more as time goes on. She had to get out of that.

Maybe i am wrong but i always felt that Gisele was more into Tom than he was with her. When i saw them at Gala's and other red carpet events Gisele was always putting her arms around him and clinging to him.

Gisele and Tom got married in February 2009. Maybe after 13 years together and Tom's obsession with football and fame which is addictive and very hard to let go of Giselle probably had a lonely life and the closeness that she wanted with Tom was never going to happen.

So sad to see this couple call it quits, not only for their kids, but as individuals who are 40+, it's beyond sad to end everything and start over. There's something about being 36-45 yo that makes one think they have their whole lives ahead of them, 'age is never going to catch up with me', but in reality, it's more like 5-7 years max before the body starts letting you know it's over half a century, and suddenly you can't do things the way you used to. The kids go from being kids to young adults who move out and start their own independent lives - nothing is the same. It's a major, major shift. I speak from experience. I can't stress enough how looking back, those years 36-45 are so, so precious. Be wise people, and don't ruin your future by making critically bad choice in those precious years.

It's about time she finally decided to divorce him. Tom just kept lying to her for several years. He should have retired after he got to his mid 30s like most quarterbacks do.
