I 100% would’ve walked into Soap Land thinking it was something like a Bath & Bodyworks 😭

When she said soap land I thought "Ooh Japanese Lush" not Japanese Lust 😂😂😂

I'm the kind of guy that would probably go into the soap land building thinking there's just soap for sale

The shared bath thing - the Japanese people get it. Like in any onsen - you wash your body beforehand, even your hair. I have super long hair so I bun it on my head and make sure it does not get anywhere near the onsen water. Even if I do wash it in the prep area, I still bun it on top of my head. However with coworkers... HARD PASS just out of principle.

I fully thought soapland was gonna be a fun place where you could get custom soap made or something 😭

The thing is in the US, bathing is used as a means of getting clean. Whereas in Japan it seems to be more about having a soak and enjoying the water. I imagine it's more or less like how Americans would use a hot tub. I mean, no one's trying to get clean in the jacuzzi.

No no, a soap land is only a high-end bathhouse. It just HAPPENS that there are beautiful ladies working, and you fall in love with each other for an hour or so. Not intended for anything naughty.

Regarding Soap Lands: Prostitution is illegal in Japan, but only if the two parties are strangers. Soap Lands are "selling" only the massage, it's their way to pretend they aren't selling sex, but effectively they are selling sex.
It's a loophole their weirdass wording within the law allows for, but tbh prostitution has always been largely tolerated there so everyone turns a blind eye.

Fun fact. Soapland used to be called toruko buro (Turkish Bath) until in 1984 there was an uproar by turkish citizens and they held a NATIONWIDE contest for a new name and soapland was the winning choice.

I got really excited about soap land thinking it was a giant soap store. I am disapointed now.

Thank you for showing all the different things in Japan. Unfortunately I will never make that trip in my lifetime but I am able to see the things you do through your videos. Thank you.

37% of Japanese households are single person households, and loneliness is so bad they tried having a minister of loneliness. Any business where you can pay for social interaction is going to make a killing over there. They have issues.

Um . . . Ya the bath water sharing is a no for me.
Ben's nonchalance to being soped down by random girls . . . Respect the confidence.😁

*I follow you who lives in Japan and Marissa that lives in china and I’m so intrigued by how different everything is. It’s so amazing learning new cultures, new things. What they like, what they do, why they do it, I’ve always showed interest so both of your channels are my favorite for learning*
