Personally I use zip ties. They come in a whole rainbow of colors and if you run out of colors you can use two of a different color on the same cable to expand your color code. They're a touch more durable than tape and easy enough to put on.

I like to use gaff tape (spike) for this too, also give cable support from bending near the ends

I don't colour them by size, rather by individual cable, way easier if there is an issue, to figure out what is connected to what
