It’s an experiment of the three types of Bok Choi / Pak Choi In full sun and also making sure what works best for this area is it transplants or direct sown seeds. This is part one of the part two video part one is from seed to transplants in part two will probably be the harvest video.

It's so painful to cut away seedlings! I just take a chance and sow one and have good luck.

I'm in zone 7b and planting greens of any sort are eaten by bugs if I plant in spring to summer harvest. If I plant for a late fall the bugs seem not to like the cool temps and I can enjoy some plants for myself. Otherwise I'm growing for slugs, snails, aphids, caterpillar's etc
I don't like to put chemicals on what I will later eat so any suggestions from anyone would be lovely. I rent so the area is small not like your space with so many choices to plant. Thank you Sir and I really enjoyed this content and I did enjoy the lessons.

Do you think the soil temperature has a bigger influence on bolting than the air temperature.

Great video and great channel. I’m 7b too, so excited to find you.

This is my first year gardening, and I planted some Pak Choy, direct sow a few weeks ago. I was stoked when they germinated, but it now looks like they’ve all withers away. I noticed some small holes in the leaves a few days ago, but now they are all gone before I could do anything about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Personally I find direct sow are better than seed tray. Maybe it’s because I shock the too much during transplanting.
