This is about the most decent youtube review on the E8 to be found. Big thank you and thumbs up for that. Now that I'm on the verge of finally replacing my old Saeco by this Jura, the most important question that remains to me is about the water filter. Where I live, the amount of calcium in the water is huge. Most people who are bothered about this, like us, have a decalcifier installed (NOT reverse osmosis, which is not recommended according to Jura). So the amount of calcium left in the water coming out of our tap is already pretty low, making cleaning of shower or sink much easier but more importantly: improving coffee taste significantly. Water is now pretty good to drink straight from the tap, but it still has some components that have their effect on the water taste (chlorine, iron etc). So: we use a Brita water filter can to filter our drinking water even more, and we can keep the can in the fridge so we always have cool and clean drinking water available. It tastes as good or even better than bottled water. There is (virtually) no calcium left in this water, so I've decided to stop using the Brita filter in the Saeco and just pour the water from our Brita can into the water reservoir. Also it really doesn't make sense to filter the water twice with the exact same kind of filter... I'm planning to do the exact same thing with the E8, but now I'm wondering about the decalcifying of the machine. If we use the smart water filters, the machine will never ask te be decalcified. But what if we don't use the smart water filter, and we've set the water hardness to 0? Will it ever ask to be decalcified? And can we ignore it, or will the E8 be a pain in the ass and keep nagging about it until it has a decalcifying cycle performed? In my opinion, working the same way as before, our water going in to the E8 is filtered the exact same way (or even better compared to tap water with high hardness) as the smart water filter would have done, making this smart water filter obsolete. Doing the same job as the smart water filter that makes decalcifying cycles obsolete, I would expect our way of working to render decalcifying cycles obsolete as well. What's your opinion on this? Thanks in advance for your response!

Great and best machine on the market...I would pay $400 more for S8.

HI Marc. Great video. It helped me decide on the E8. Do you mind sharing the grinder setting and bean strength you used to get the 24 sec’s. I currently have mine site at 2 oz espresso, finest setting, and max 8 beans. Is that what you had it set for? Or will the e8 always pull 24 seconds? Thank you in advance!

Have a question about the froth. Doing the research there are lots of reviews about only Luke warm milk froth. Lots of complaints about the milk drinks not being hot enough and then having to microwave them. I noticed you mention the espresso and coffee temps being hot but what is the temp of the milk? This will be important for hot chocolate or chai tea lattes.
Thanks, almost sold on the E8. Just don’t want to spend a pretty penny for cold drinks.

This machine looks great. Why would I consider the Z6 at almost double the price compared to everything I get with the E8?

About the 'low milk temperature' comments. The thing about that is the fact that all those people are probably 1 not preheating their cups, and 2 using too much foam. Milk foam drags the overall temperature down a lot. Get a 'profi-frother outlet' for the cappucinatore, if you don't have one. Liquid warm milk doesn't bring it down as much as foam does. Just so you know, changing a product's temperature in the settings doesn't do anything about the milk's temperature, it only changes for the coffee.

Hi Marc. great review thank you. Three quick questions: 1. The Jura site mentions that this machine is wireless ready. Can you please elaborate on this feature. 2. The E8 is not Swiss made, does it feel cheaper than other machines. 3. Would you choose the E8 over the J90? I hope this helps others as well... Thank you...

Hi thanks for the review. Currently shopping for a JURA. On the E8 can you have 2 different setting saved for the same drink?

Hi Mark. I'd love a review of the Jura F9. Are you planning on reviewing this model soon?

I have a question regarding the notification of the coffee box state. Our current machine says it's "ready for use", but once the press the button to dispense coffee, you might get a notice to clear the box first. Very annoying when you craving that coffee and expect it, but then disappointed by needing maintenance before you need to again press the dispense button, and this time receiving your beverage. So does this Jura machine display the notice to clear the box after the last use?

Are the Z6 and E8 the only to machines available with P.E.P.? I notices that on the Jura website in Europe they have a lot more models?

You mention standard size cups. What does that mean? We have several different coffee cups and I wouldn’t say they’re all the same size. Out of the box how do I ensure a drink doesn’t overflow? I’m especially interested in the cappuccino and latte but am concerned with how the machine knows when to stop filling. Is the only way to ensure no overflow to use the feature of holding down the button as demonstrated?

Thanks for the video. I'm a repeat customer. Do you or the staff the notice a perceptible difference in the P.E.P models vs the non P.E.P?

Would you recommend getting the smart plug for the machine? Does it really add value?

Hi
Thank you for your videos
really enjoy watching them

but I have a few questions
1- what is the difference between Jura Z6, E8, E6??? as it seems they do the same drinks!

2- do the drinks taste any different from each other? if you made say a latte on all three machines

3-how will these differ from say using a DeLonghi 44 or 28 or Breville Oracle machines? will the taste really be that different? or is it just the convenience and the many options?

Any tips on best way to make a cafe mocha using cocoa powder with this machine? Is it preferable to mix the cocoa with the milk prior to having the milk drawn into the frother?

Jura E8 (E80) or Gaggia Babila, which one would you choose? Which one produces better results? Which one is more reliable? Which one is more easy to clean and cheaper to maintain? Thanks a lot!

Does the PEP work for the espresso delivered from the milk-based side? I heard it on the coffee-only side, but I’m particularly interested what it does for americanos, etc. That might help me pick between the Z6 and the E8!
