I tell my Corgi many times a day that I love her.She is laying next to me right now, and every time she hears you say, “I love you”, her ears perk up, and she looks at me. It is so sweet. I hope you have a great day!

Thank you for showing us sweet Prim. There’s nothing more soul soothing than time spent with your horse, is there? My horses are my life. They have saved me in so many ways.

My wild horse, Arrow, is my soul animal. It hasn’t been easy since I’ve taken my boy on. He was wild, and scared and needed so much understanding and patience. Me and him… we’ve come a long way. He is different from other horses, so different. He’s 100 percent instinct He grew up in the wild, had to fight for his life probably from the time he was a baby. My survivor horse.

He was caught when he was around 4-5 years old and wasn’t gelded until he was almost 6. He learned how live a life with humans, and I know it wasn’t easy on him. When he was first started, my boy showed a real talent for ranch life, moving cows and trail rides and learning how life is with people.

And then he was sold. My boy wants to do the right thing, always. He has the most amazing heart. He wants to please and there’s nothing my boy won’t do for you if you ask the right questions and give him the understanding he needs. Unfortunately, he was sold to people who tried train him the old school cowboy way. He was treated roughly and he began to buck. The person who bought him didn’t like that he still had his “wolf teeth” and decided instead of doing it properly with a vet and anesthetic, she decided to twitch his ears and tie his head down and have people man handle him and tried to rip the teeth out herself. It completely undid any of the good training he had and became very hard. He got a bad rap. Was labelled as “dangerous”. He was most definitely on his way to the slaughter pipeline or a life of abuse.

I saw my boy’s heart. I saw how badly he wanted to do the right thing, and yes, I could have bought a “good” trail horse, but I saw in my Arrow, an animal who just needed someone who understood him. I’ve had him for 4 years now. And he is by far, the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’ve spent many a night in tears worried about my boy’s future. But oh, has he ever come a long way. He lets me handle his ears now, and the ground work we have done together has been the most incredible journey I’ve ever experienced. I can send him through creeks and over logs, through heavy bushes and steep hills, and he’ll do it all if I ask him properly. Respectfully and with empathy. He’s an incredible partner. An incredible animal. My heart horse through and through.

I love my quiet moments with my Arrow, love that he allows me to walk up to him and brush him while he eats his snacks without running away. He is an amazing protector of his little brother Finny, his older brother, Barney and the three sweet mares who share the pasture with him.

He’s run off bears, run off cougars and coyotes and taught my Fin how to be a good herd mate. When I am alone on the trail, walking with my Arrow, he’s always watching the tree-line for danger. And he’s so good at alerting me to things that scare him. He’s leaving me for a year to go for training so I can finally have my trail horse. But it breaks my heart to think of a whole year without my little mustang. I’ll be doing a lot of driving over the next year to see his progress that’s for sure.

Thank you, Jamie. For loving your horses the way you do. You don’t see enough of it with these amazing animals. And it truly breaks my heart. You are a bright reminder that there are, for sure good people in the world for my beloved horses so thank you.

I’m in love with Prim. She’s a perfect girl who fits in perfectly with your amazing herd ❤❤

Prim is gorgeous - her colour and markings are awesome. She'll soon adjust to her new home and horse/donkey/pony family as well as enjoying the love and attention she gets from you Jami.

I used to love being in the barn grooming, more so than riding. If I had a stressful day I would head to the barn. The horses always listened to my troubles.
