Sphenoid bone and its landmarks

The sphenoid is a skull bone that is classified as a bone of the neurocranium. It is located in the central aspect of the skull base. It is an unpaired butterfly-shaped bone connected with the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital bones through various sutures.
