Do you have to use some kind of treatment in order to use it for food? Oil or something? Really asking as my daughter just got her first kit and is starting her first spoon

How sharp are the knives supposed to be? Like i sharpen my own kitchen knives but ive never heard anyone sharpening their carving tools (given ive only started dipping my toes into woodcarving content like a week ago)

Tried this for fun, the only wood I had tho was ash, a hardwood 😵
I've only got a bushcraft knife but I think its good enough for a beginner. Spoon came out kinda ugly and squary but tommorow I'm trying again!
