Mafia III (PC) - What Happens If You Kill John Donovan

Critical mission failure, of course... and an alternate ending for Mafia 3?

This was done during the mission "Somethin' I've Got To Do", which takes place early in the game. Once you arrive at Sammy's bar, exit Donovan's car and immediately grab another car. Tail Donovan instead of going inside the bar. You'll find him standing outside of the Blue Gulf Motel (his tac-center). He basically has God Mode turned on and you can push him around using a vehicle. Push him into the water and he'll drown.

I wonder how he even got into the CIA if he can't swim?

2020 update: Apparently this has been patched because I can no longer do this in the Definitive Edition of Mafia III. People from Hangar 13 must've watched this video (hi! Mafia 4 when?).

If you do this to Burke and Vito, you also get a mission failed cutscene. Although the dialogue is different for each one, Maguire basically says the same thing in all of them, which is that Lincoln couldn't take down the Marcanos with the character's death and so Lincoln was killed.

The cutscene makes no sense because donovan is seen throughout the game in front of the senator in 1971
