Because our hominid ancestors played too many violent video games and watched too many violent movies, obviously.

Because the stars belong to us and we will only claim them through war. Or something like that, I don't have 40, 000 hammers so don't quote me.

no matter how violent we are, we can never hold a candle to the unbelievably grimdark hyperwar of the ants

we as a species, aren't inherently more violent than others ..merely conscious of the fact that we are.

I guess we should be thankful the lion king wasn't accurately depicting meerkats.

When I found out how much dna we share with chimpanzees, and when you consider how violent and social they are, it all makes sense.

OMG, Self Domestication, what a simple but amazing idea. I absolutely agree with this possible interpretation. Wow. First we domesticated ourselves to live peacefully in groups and then we did it to dogs, horses, goats etc. Really, a powerful explanation for this dominant human behaviour. Wow. Kim

Nature by itself is violent, it's all a survival game, so how not to expect its most strongest element on this planet not to be one

I've been busy all day, and I finally get a moment to myself. Logged on to YouTube and a new HoH uploaded 6 minutes ago. If that's not fate, I don't know what is.

Thungbar not care that it mine.

Stop food deliveries to grocery stores for one week with no notice…

See how peaceful and reasonable people are

You are asking the wrong question. The world is violent, this is not strange. You need to ask the questions "Why are we capable of peace." "Why do we have the capacity for empathy?" "Why do we have the ability to love?" That is what is unusual in the world.

We are apes. Apes with money and guns. That is pretty much the situation.

It's not we that are violent
It's mother nature that is violent
And every animal on earth
Saying humans are violent is like saying water is wet

This is why I generally avoid people & social situations. They always bring drama & fights.

I was extremely violent as a child. I loved fighting, even if I lost, I felt more alive than ever when I was hurting someone or they were hurting me. I don't know what made me that way; I wasn't abused or mistreated as a child. Then when I was 30 years old, it just changed. I felt bad for all the people I hurt and I only wanted to be nice and help others. I'm in my late 40s now and I often think back and try to understand what made me crave violence is much. Anyone else ever felt like this?

Social animals are more violent sometimes, but they're also far moee generous and kind and will save the lives of other beings or aid them far more often. I would say this often makes them more benevolent.
