Uncle Tom's Cabin - Jani Lane Memorial

Eric Oswald, Jani's brother, opens up on a little riff that he used to play that made Jani feel like home. Then he played the intro to Uncle Tom's Cabin (which Eric wrote) and then Joe Retta (Sweet) Sean McNabb on bass and James Kottak on drums (ty hbinhb for the info!) stepped up and played the rest of the song. Joe did not really know any of the songs well, but he tried and has a truly amazing voice!

I had no idea he was so talented too! Loved what he played at the show and god bless him for being able to play.I was mad because people kepted saying play more and it had to be so rough on him.Good bless him for playing on:-)

It's been all these years and I just now saw the "shout out" to me hbinhb :)  I was in the Midwest attending to family matters and missed this show!  Thanks!  I still miss Jani to this day.  Amazing song writer and lyricist!

Love never rained down on me dear,
Only heartache and problems.
Now through your arms I can see clear
, It's only been raining water~~~
You came along with a patch of blue sky
Inside your arms I found a place that's warm and dry~~~ Last time I saw Jani he asked if we had "decided on a name yet for our first child?"I replied "Weve not settled on one yet, have any ideas?" He took off his T and showed me the ink he had of his kids names which I knew meant the world to him.

I was there that night. The people talking didn't sound loud at all. It was just where that guy's phone was. It was a special night. I think there were more than a few tears

On bass guitar is Sean McNabb previously with Quiet Riot, Great White, and currently with Dokken. He has also played with many others such as Lita Ford, etc.

Pretty sad the Warrant guys did not attend this, bands cancel shows all the time for different reasons, they should have been there that night no matter what.

On drums is James Kottak precious member of Kingdom Come, Warrant. Currently with Scorpions and Kottak. Jani mentions on That Metal Show that he was going to be his drummer in future band as well.

Could've honored him by having someone who knew or at least cared enough to learn the lyrics to the song, like butchering poetry, who's idea was that? Thankfully the band was great & did him service, Lead nailed the solo. BTW "Sheriff he belongs in a prison cell" not a "wishing well" #NeverforgetJaniLane
