I don't know where S4Y is going with these videos. They have great production value and explain basic concepts well, but the sheer number of 2-3 minute videos needed to cover poker thoroughly is going to be high and created at great expense. Is this a business model that can work in today's environment? That remains to be seen. There are a number of other established players in this field (Polk, Galfond, Hanson and Little) who charge for their content (much of which is excellent), and some address these basic concepts for free in YouTube videos. So the competition is going to be tough. Additionally, there are a number of books that address many of the same concepts at a relatively inexpensive cost. Add to that the fact that poker is currently not growing and that many players have no inclination to do the work or spend money on learning, that the target audience for this material may be limited going forward. It's refreshing to see videos of this quality addressing poker concepts, as so many others are not well thought out before they're filmed, and errors left in during the editing process. But I fear it's too little too late for S4Y. And if the same folks who invested in Landon Tice in the Perkins' challenge are the folks who are investing in S4Y, at the first sign of trouble they may pull the plug on the whole thing. Hopefully, I'm wrong and we get a lot of great content from S4Y in the months and years to come.
