That’s why we shouldn’t base our testimony solely upon physical evidence. It’s vital to have faith in the spiritual experience first. Knowledge and understanding will come in time. They require much patience and long suffering. To get the right information you need to look at the right place.

Rod, we have a similar story in our family. As a Stake Missionary my dad taught with others, a man who was baptized with his wife and children. He went on to archeology college and ended up similar to Larry's dad. The end of the story is nice: his wife? (daughter?) sent our family a letter thanking our Dad, for finding them and teaching them about The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping them to join The Church. I still remember the mans name too, but it might not be good to just put it here. (Would'nt want to dox anyone.)

My father in law said the same thing after working for BYU archeological foundation for a lifetime. He too went inactive although I don’t know if that was the reason

I missed the point there at the end when he talked about the tapes, did the tapes provide evidence or not ?
