Yes, this really is the main street in Stromness. A beautiful little harbour town in the southwestern part of Mainland Orkney. Rich in history and has strong connections with the Hudson's Bay Company. If you get the chance I highly recommend you visit.

Happy memories but would you believe this - I came up on the ferry from Aberdeen to Kirkwall, then drove to Stromness ( we were doing a climb on the 'Old Man', so needed the wee boat to get us to Hoy) and we actually forgot WHERE we parked-up the Took bloody hours to find it when we got back to Stromness🙄! I worked there briefly as a district nurse. The health centre where we were based is the building at 7:10 with the small car park in front.
Seems like forever ago, I live in Chicago now!

It was a pleasure to watch your video without personal images and narration. Thank you for a bonny video seen without conflicting views been expressed. By far the best way to do it. Many thanks. Rmb5*

Remember negotiating this route in both directions & how courteous drivers were. Totally different on the mainland!!

Courteous driving. With a road that narrow I suppose locals get used to showing consideration to others. Would seem weird at first having cars driving right close to your front windows. I hope to go there one day. I grew up in Tasmania, an island off the southern coast of Australia.
