What a crime that this piece isn't performed more often!

Absolutely beautiful! Haunting, unsettling, surprising, and very well performed, with passion! Thanks for sharing this! My cello teacher performed this last evening, I am so glad she also is an advocate for Rebecca Clarke’s brilliant musical mind! 🙏❤️🎶

With respect, Clarke's Trio is performed almost constantly, and widely recorded. I know: I am a great-nephew of Clarke's, and the owner of her rights as composer and author, and I keep track! Clarke's official website, www.rebeccaclarkecomposer.com, offers a great deal of information about currently available recordings and on-demand streaming (see "Discography" and "Shop"), and provides links to two (of many) recent online videos, including an earlier performance by the ATOS Trio, which does the piece to perfection. Clarke's Sonata (1919) and Trio (1921) were both entered in Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge's Berkshire Festivals anonymously, as the rules required. In both cases, the musical world and the international press greeted Clarke's triumph with open arms, and dozens of performances ensued on at least three continents (a summary of all this is given on the website's "Life" page, and Clarke's one use of a pseudonym — having nothing to do with the Trio — is discussed under "Frequently Asked Questions"). For further details, please get in touch via the "Contact" page.

We definitely need this composer played much more often. This is an excellent composition and performance.

Rebecca Clarke had to submit this Piano Trio composition under a man's name in order for it to be judged. Then, when it won first prize, she revealed that a woman composed it. The music establishment at the time were aghast that a woman could have composed such an extraordinary piece full of passion & beauty. They did not believe a woman did it. One hundred years later, we just shake our heads at such ignorance !

(P.S. - She decided to submit it under a man's name because she had already experienced discrimination in a past competition, simply because of her genitalia.)

First-rate playing --- as usual, with this trio.

Someone in the audience dropped his bow at 14:56 (and with a good sense of rhythm).
