The all quiet on the western front book had a massive impact on me, I was relativley young and liked the idea of heroism and glory through war. I picked the book up from my dad after he said it would change my view on things, thinking "What does he know?" It changed my entire view on war, my outlook on video games and movies about war changed, my outlook on real life war changed.

My new outlook was that war is hell, nobody should be subjected to it, to fight for ego, resources, ideology, it all boils down to the same thing- Pointless deaths.
