Wow! First time seeing a dapping block and a press. So fascinating to morph shapes like that. I love it! Every single thing about jewelry making is like a universe unto itself. Making jewelry combines so many trade skills and disciplines - chemistry, structural, mechanical, forging, soldering, welding, material science, enamel work, ceramic and glass work, wire work, and so on. As an avid DIYer, I am just in love with jewelry and the making of it. The more I look into making, the less I buy jewelry. My mind says, 'just make it yourself!'. And so I do. Thank you, Skylar for showing us this whole other world. I am thrilled!

By the way, Harbor Freight has the Dapping blocks for $46. Also presses, vise, punch sets, files, etc. Pick with care of course. Some are good, some not.

I love the idea of putting just any ring into the doming block to to either size it or just get that rounded look! I never saw that before & I've watched 100s of jewelry videos. Thank you for being my "learn something new every day" today!

Thanks for this video. I have these and it did work to get me started but o still had to get a ri g sizer and a set of Swedish dies to make nice rings. My first few attempts had alot of hammer marks and where very hard to get a nice ring shape.

Man, you have came a long ways with your videos!! I’ve watched a bunch of yours (I’ve got tools ordered to start making coin rings, thanks to YOU 😊) this video was very helpful but threw me off with the editing lol so yeah definitely came a long ways! Congratulations! And THANK YOU!

Good demonstration on using the not so old school way to achieve a look that we now take for granted using expensive fancy tools. Thanks for the video.

If a person does not have a ring stretcher/reducer, what and how would you recommend them to get somewhat the same outcome on a finished ring? Thanking you in advance.

Love your work, A Few years ago you asked Fence kid about the patina that he does on his rings, At the time you were looking for something that would be more permanent.Theres a type of Sterling silver called Siam silver, it always depicts an oriental person dancing, but they use a type of patina to make the picture. How, I'm not sure, but it's a start.Plus, the jewelry is beautiful.

Reason I ask is I am on a tight budget. I have already purchased the doming block, the mandrel, delrin balls, and nylon mallet. I am on the verge of purchasing a 1 ton arbor press. Thanks once again.

Please tell us a little more about the 6t press. Where can we pick one up?

I am missing a part of the video where it shows a folding process that morphs in the ring. Understand that you keep going but it doesn't do me any good to miss part of the video

I like this idea, love how your ring came out. I would love to do this, amazing how u can see the writing on the coin. I just see two other videos and they had TOO many tools . Yours seems doable

I really love your videos and I'm stocking up on the tools needed to start making coin jewellery but I have a quick question! The ball you use to press the coin in the doming block, what is it made of? When I look for doming blocks, every set I find has its own set of punches.
