Honestly, I can 100% confirm that the second and third phrase are working. Once I started using the "and that's why I am great for this position" in my letters, I got a massive increase in interview invites. And when I am actually interested in the position, "I am looking forward to hearing from you" gets my chances of actually getting feedback by like 300%. It's insane

I thought you meant the 3 were "I'm confident... but I'm not cocky" "I really want this job... but I'm not desperate" and "You should interview me... but its ok if you don't" and I was like you should NOT put that in your application

"i look forward to hearing from you" or "i look forward to working together in the future", or "i look forward to collaborating in the future". Its also a solid ending in finishing correspondence with someone you worked with on a project or something. It got me work on different projects, youre basically communicating youre interested to work more with the people/ company and might keep you in mind for a project or maybe even a different job in the future.

Any chance you could do a video on writing a cover letter? It’s never been something I’ve done consistently or felt confident in, but I want to start! Specifically intimidated whenever it’s unclear who I should address the letter to😬

I end almost all of my emails with "thank you so much for reading this, I hope to hear from you soon!" For very similar reasons XD

Erin would you make a video about reference letter?

As someone who has worked in hiring, the third line really can come off as arrogant depending on the delivery of above content, your qualifications with respect to the position, etc. Be careful out there and always look for people to give you a second opinion on your writing!

“Thank you for your time, I look forward to discussing details of my candidacy in the context of an interview”

Maybe it’s a Canada thing, but be confident to show that you believe you should be met, as opposed to giving the idea that you are waiting to hear from them

@AdviceWithErin Hi, Erin! I'm a recent subscriber and love your videos! I wanted your advice on how to search for jobs. Example: I mostly have education experience, but I want to leave that field and go into translation or bookkeeping, for which I have some experience but not paid ones. But I don't know how to even start to look or when I find some I get disheartened at the job description because it sounds like I don't know how to do the tasks and I'm afraid they won't want someone they'll have to train. Do you have any advice for how to properly look and what to do with intimidating job descriptions (aka you don't understand what some of those things even mean)?

Would your tips work for just any application? (Except the ones with like salary or contract negotiation
