Place a compressor across the hat group

Then select your kick in the sidechain

Adjust to taste, play around with the release time

Now listen to before and after to how tight the drums sound

It’s definitely helpful to have fast tips on compressors. Sometimes I watch videos and I’m like, oh god this doesn’t take 20 minutes to explain. I wish I’d see this video 9 years ago. Not that Logic Pro X was out, but logic 9 worked the same.

It's not hihats It's computer generated sounds. A hihat is an acoustic instrument, typically part of a drum kit, and a totally different and complicated matter.
