High reverb and wammy bar is great advice!

And to any one reading, on guitars without a 2 and 4 position, a bridge pickup works fine.
And for reverb, spring works best with the reverb not necessarily "max" but rather unity volume with your guitar
So you can get the "drippy" tone.
Run it into a slapback delay (one repeat, unity volume with guitar, 90ms) and run that into a very LIGHT tremolo
(Too much trem sounds like spaghetti western... Because theyre essentially the same style of guitar playing but one is more tremolo and one is more drippy sounding)
And lastly i like to add a mild chorus/vibrato blend effect at about 50% mix
Stereo works great for modern takes on classic riffs
I personally love using a pan tremolo, a stereo chorus, and a fully stereo spring reverb, and for surf rock specifically i prefer panning my delay fully left and my dry fully right so the slapback creates a stereo image
The stereo imaging can be accomplished with pedals and as for the reverb, the most important part of surf rock guitar tone- using a pedal with a stereo algorithm (like the immerse mkii) OR a pedal that lets you run two reverbs in parallel (like the boss rv500) will get you a stereo reverb sound.
I prefer yhe DD500 for the delay, and the MD500 for any chorus / tremolo / vibrato sounds
