We have 7 Makino A51 NX, I love the Pro 6 Control. Was able to take the control and it’s power to the next level and fully utilize it. It is by far the best most accurate machine I have ever programmed and ran.
If you have any questions, Titan Please contact me, I programmed Complex Macros and Autocomp with probing all on this machine. Utilize all of BTS and have parameters changed for safety of the machine.

The A-Series Horizontals are the only mill the company I worked for buys. Amazing machines with so much capability and even when they are hurting they continue to run strong and make amazing parts. I've had the opportunity to work around the a-51 through the a-81 models as well as the J66. Titans program helped get me there to start programming real high volume production jobs. Have fun and don't baby it too much because its a beast hungry to make some serious chips on some big parts.

I used to run these. Makes a very distinct sound when churning along at 15k - 20k rpms. One thing you gotta watch for on these are chips getting embedded on the air nipples. Will have you chasing your tail trying to figure out what's wrong. Love the gui on these

Been out of the trade for a decade or so but the shop I was in bought an a51 which was impressive enough to lead to an a71
Both were robust & reliable. Rapid speeds and tool change as well as pallet change times were well ahead of the competition at the time.
I was fortunate enough to go to Mason Ohio to the LeBlond Makino stateside prep & assembly facility for a tour and some training prior to the first purchase. An impressive organization.

I've never had any disappointments with Makino machine tools.
Each and every one has been everything they were supposed to be - and more.
Any machine that will rough large quantities of metal and still repeat and interpolate round within one ten thousandth inch without being in a temperature controlled environment is a damn fine machine.
Between our Makino H series and our Nakamura NTX there isn't any detail we can't manufacture.
The Nakamura isn't the hardy machine the Makino is but an eleven axis machine tool does some impressive things.
Now, if Makino made a machining center with the same processing capabilities as the NTX I'd turn the NTX into a garden ornament!
