Bison farming is absolutely brutal. They are extremely powerful wild animals. This is sick.

The mental gymnastics people will do to justify making money! Carbs FTW!! 💪💪

They have multiple locations, in LA, which has massively expensive rents. I think it’s hard to generate enough income selling vegan food. Much easier to sling “exotic meats” like bison and such. However now they have lost all of their existing customers. Can they gain enough new customers fast enough to make it, considering now they’re just like any other one of LA’s thousands of restaurants? Her twisting herself into a human pretzel to justify this is hilarious.

In The Netherlands, we live on a huge pile of cow manure. Plus too much nitrogen in our soil. We have too many cows for a small country. The manure was allowed to be used for fertilizing the soil. Adding to our nitrogen problem. These lands are only used to grow grass to feed the cows (and mind you, very few cows are allowed outside to graze). The amount of cow manure being ridden out over the land is absurd. We had a pass from the EU, but now they've said 'No more'.
Regenerative farming is just another story from the meat industry. Just like the protein story. We don't need cows to regenerate the land. And we don't need all that protein from animal sources either.
What we do need is considerably less livestock, less land-use to keep that livestock. Our soil needs a break from all the nitrogen (coming from the manure) being injected into it. We don't need animal protein. We don't need animals to feed us. Our government is forced (by EU and climate goals) to buy out farmers and reduce livestock. That's how 'good' bovine are for the environment.

Hyper-local?! Let’s create new terminology to sound environmentally friendly and modern versus not killing animals needlessly. 🙄

She COULD just promote regenerative vegan agriculture instead.

Ryan, I love how you emphasize the natural horror vegans feel at this restaurant owner slaughtering animals after being vegan for so long. It’s not a diet, it is and always has been about the animals. Her statement that she no longer feels a vegan diet is optimal is pure bs. I’d have more respect for her if she just said we’re serving dead animals because we weren’t making enough money.🙄 And how are these farms regenerative? How do you regenerate a dead animal?!?

It’s all for profit. They are clearly morally bankrupt. Smfh. What losers

Idk about everyone else but I don’t consider protein that causes cancer to be high quality. You can literally turn off cancer cells by eliminating animal proteins from your diet so wouldn’t non animal protein be higher quality? And the fact that plant protein doesn’t cause heart disease doesn’t hurt either.

Regenerative agriculture can be a good answer to what to do with the livestock when the "world" becomes vegan, people guide and protect the newly freed herds as they move to fertilize the land, subsidized with money already going to animal farming industries, no forced breeding, no slaughter.

Ryan, thanks so very much for mentioning the vegan definition early on in your video! ♥️

It is not protein lady, it is an animal.

when it comes to environment i have a pretty good answer:
'wild caught healthy humans are the most environmentally friendly source of food out there, and they have by definition everything a human needs to be healthy! if you are disgusted by this, that is because you acknowledge those humans as the victims here. what do you feel is stopping you from feeling the same about non human individuals such as animals?'

UGH. Add to the long list of vegan restaurants we've lost in SoCal over the last year.

So odd. I used to go to sage when I’d visit my daughter in LA. Sorry to hear this. You’re right Ryan Just start serving meat without all the bs justification trying to make yourself feel better. I’m going to read the original article. Thanks for posting

I love that you addressed this nonsense. When I saw her announcement, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I can tell you one thing... we live in SoCal and used to go to multiple Sage locations... but never again. There's nothing worse than a person who pretended to be vegan, then betrays the animals. Sad and disturbing. Thanks for calling her out.

Why should anyone believe what she says at this point? It’s all about money to someone like that.

My guess is it is more about profitability and keeping the business than anything else

"I thought a vegan diet was what was the best". Yes it was the best. It still is the best for the animals!
