He has always been one of my most beloved people. A superlative actor, intelligent and gifted. My favorite of his films is "Desiree" in which he played the wonderful Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, who was a Marshal of France and then, later, the King of Sweden. Mr Rennie was perfect in it. I've never forgotten him. I never will. He was one of the all-time very best!

The Day the Earth Stood Still is still one of my favorite movies. I loved Desiree, too. I became a fan when I was just a kid. I'm still a fan, always will be.

11/2018  Youtube is now showing UK's 1938 Bank Holiday movie--Michael Rennie is first seen at he train station in "uniform, " as a comedic non-speaking role.  There will be full face shots of him through out the picture and at the end.  He is not listed in the movie credits.  albuquerque

Being that Michael Rennie was from Yorkshire perhaps the most appropriate music would have been Delius' North Country Sketches. Nice tribute, just the music could be more in line with the actor's personality and best of his sensibilities from his roots.
