Sunrise to Sunset | 25 Minute Yin Yoga Stretch for hips, back and side-body🌙

Hello everyone and welcome! This is day 3 in the Summer series "Sunrise to Sunset" where each practice is crafted in such a way that you can do it both in the morning and in the evening. Its gentle enough to get your day started but relaxing enough to wind you down. One of the benefits of doing the same practice twice, is that you are already familiar with the routine and it is a great way to down regulate the nervous system. 🔆🌙

Today I will be guiding you through yin yoga sequence for the hips, back and side-body. If you suffer with low back pain/discomfort or have been neglecting your side body this one will help you out! If when you wake up you feel stiff and heavy, this practice will ease you into motion, to help melt the stiffness away and help with flexibility/mobility. On the other hand, if your looking for an evening wind down before bed, this practice will help melt the stresses of your day away and get your ready for bed. So, if you need a nudge to get your day started or an escape before bed, this is the perfect practice for you! #yinyogastretch #eveningyoga #morningyoga

This is an all levels practice, perfect for beginners and seasoned practitioners.

0:00-1:13- Intro
1:15-3:52- Toe Squat
3:53-5:00 - Counter stretch
5:01-9:40 - Fire Log Right
9:41-13:22 - Fire Log Left
13:23-17:14- Dragon Fly Left
17:15-20:40- Dragon Fly Right
20:41- 22:00 - Twist
22:01- 24:25 - Savasana (with hips on blocks)
24:26-26:32- Closing

The side stretch with the block felt quite nice. Also appreciate the ding when there’s two breaths left, it’s helpful especially for the harder poses

This video dropped mid-morning in my time zone and I didn't want to wait until evening to do it. So I did it after lunch. It was perfect! I needed to open up my sides and hips. Using the blocks was a nice modification in square pose today. I often forget that props are there to enhance poses and not a sign of weakness! Thank you for another great class and for offering so many modifications. Our bodies are different every day! Have a wonderful week! 🎈🧘🏻‍♀️🌸

Phew! Firelog pose at 4am. The creaky old hips were groaning! Lucky I had some hot, strong coffee to oil those joints! 😂❤

What are some alternatives to the fire log? I have tight fascia issues and my body is not able to get into this position yet.

I enjoyed this practice, but the toe stretch... not so much. Although I managed to hold it slightly longer than usual only because I leaned forward a bit. 😅
