The Distressor is a indispensable tool that I have used since 1998. It is a must on guitars and vocals. Without a doubt it is a magical box!!!!

Purchased a distressor several years ago. Man, what a diverse unit! Love using it to track guitars. I go from my Neve 1073 into the distressor. I find it to also be forgiven as I had some settings that looked like I was overcompressing while tracking but sounded great, not squashed at all. Guess that’s why they say mix with your ears not with your eyes.

I rarely use a compressor on guitars unless I need some spank. That said the Distressor is my go to for character compression, sounds great on vocals, drums and even bass. Would love to have a hardware pair at some point.

Compressors really are the hot sauce for guitar signal.
Sometimes just a hint, sometimes more, too much and things get sweaty and weird.
I run a Cali 76 set fairly heavy with about 40% dry and a Compadre in parallel as the variable
