In today's video we try out the Viltrox 75mm f1.2. Recently I did a review of the 27mm f1.2 and absolutely loved it! And many of you reached out and told me that I should give the 75mm a go too!

And well you weren't wrong! This is a surprisingly good lens!

Your little “side note” of returning viewers not subscribing got me to click “subscribe”. Keep up the great work bud! I’ve been a canon shooter for the last 3 years. Still am, but picked up the X-T5 as a birthday gift to myself this last Feb. Loving the size and colors. Don’t think it will replace my R6II’s, but its definitely fun to use and easier to carry around for casual shooting.

I’ve had this lens for a bit and I love it. It is big but I think it is worth it. I was using it on my x-e4 and now on an x-pro3. I think for the price it is an incredible value. The sharpness and depth of feel is great. I want the 27mm as well but I already have the XF 23mm and the XF 35mm f/2.0.

One of my favorite things about this lens is the swirly bokeh. It ads so much character. It mixes the Crazy sharp optically “perfect” quality of modern glass from Sony and Canon while retaining a bit of vintage feel. I love backlighting a subject and getting flare but the OG 56MM 1.2 has much better flare imo.

Great video! I’m considering this lens for Sony. But right now I’m sticking mainly with zooms. But looking for a good telephoto lens for me without having to go full frame lenses on my apsc body.

Great stuff man! I had the 90 and loved it but also sold it - the 90 was way too long, so I might give this one a try!

I've been owning this one for about two months now for portraits and action and the flare resistance is indeed its only drawback. I commerically shoot backlit portraits on this lens and managed to work around the flare by adjusting the camera angle a bit to control where in the frame the flare patches show up. I countered the loss of contrast with some positive dehaze. Nevertheless, it's not optimal, especially since the 27mm tends to do a lot better in that regard. However, using this lens for action sports works surprisingly well! I simply cannot justify spending double for either a 90mm or a 56mm when neither of these give me any additional value in sharpness, background rendering and or even autofocus.

The Viltrox Pro build is superb, the AF noiseless.
Between the two Viltrox lenses I prefer the 27mm f1.2 which I was not expecting, I love using that lens.
With the 75mm I seem to gravitate towards / prefer either my 56mm f1.2 R or 90mm f2
As a results whereas I find use the 27mm as a standard prime, I hardly pick up the 75mm.
Just an enthusiast, so my words carry no weight accept being my personal views.

Bought it recently. It's a great lens, minus size and weight when paired with xt cameras. Small con is an aperture ring. Feels a bit cheap and too light to turn.

The Viltrox 13 1.4 is a stunning and if not reviewed it should be on your list 😎👍

I can’t get the setup right to be able to use the manual assist feature on my X-H1. It is my favorite feature of a Fuji and it doesn’t seem to work with the 75 and this switch but it works fantastic with the 27.

Hello again.
Very pleased to see your review of this lens, as I was looking for a focal length slightly longer than the 50/56/60mm Fuji lenses.
This would be a supplementary long focus lens when travelling light with my X-Pro2 and consequently this Viltrox would appear, like the XF90, to be too heavy?
I would therefore be pleased to have your views on the Samyang 75mm F/1.8 af Fuji X mount lens, which, because of its spec. & price has been somewhat overshadowed by the Viltrox lens, despite being lighter and more compact?
The Samyang, might therefore, be my "Goldilocks" lens.
(From comments on your previous videos, you'll know, I'm not a precious pixel peeper and, as a lover of the original XF 18mm f/2, just prefer the overall "Fuji" look!)

The missed focus when capturing my dog is the first thing I noticed. It sems to happen most frequently close up, focusing on his nose rather than his eye. I found using AF+MF helps to fine tune and increased the hit rate to near 100%

Max looks very patient — just 2 treats?😁 Further animal eye focus with other non-humans would be in order. What is the lens miniumn close focus? May have missed something about the M/AF switch when you say it cuts of communication w/camera — how so? Does EXIF and aperture data still record? Cheers!

I got 75mm f1.2 too last December 2025. First the aperture ring got stuck to f1.4. the store replaced it immediately. 2nd the manual focus issue, Replaced it again with the new one. 3rd I have the same issue with the manual focus again. Focus indicator on the screen stays on one place. I really love this lens too I don't know if I have to return it where I bought it. They offered me a refund. Have you experienced this kid of issue? Any help to fix this?

Is viltrox 75mm + xs20 still convenient in hand? And use for travel. Considering the lens weight ia heavier than camera xs20

Great video! Would you recommend the Viltrox PRO 27mm or 75mm for portrait photography? Thanks in advance.
