Well, we have to start somewhere with tech. I mean, the first computers had less data then some calculators today. Now look at them. The fact this thing hovers at all is amazing, a bit more research and we might just be able to get it to hover a few inches as opposed to centimeters

The people who are complaining about this have no understanding of the development and progression of technology.  This is a proof of concept design.  Consider it a step towards a realizable hoverboard.  They are NOT saying, here look at our product, go buy it.  They are displaying the progress they have made, which is pretty cool.

To those bitching about this, just shut up for crying out loud! This is the first hoverboard, and it may not be amazing but do you know what happens next? Engineers, student engineers, and anyone else really, will be inspired to make it better as their minds go to work on how to make a better version. That's how science works, constant evolution of what we know and pushing the boundaries. This is a great first attempt and I can't wait to see what comes next!

I enjoy watching all the butthurt comments complaining about how it isn't a hoverboard and is just a magnet. Do you really care because "Back to the Future" made so much of an impact on your life that you are honestly ashamed of this video, or do you just think you should be upset because other butthurt people are antogonize?

It's the first hover board. Do you really expect it to be the best hover board?

If it is off the ground, it is a hoverboard.  Who wrote it in stone that "For it to be a hoverboard, it MUST! be able to hover several feet in the air and can go everywhere!"  

Overall, it is the first step.  Imagine if this tech can be used to help move heavy objects without the need for a forklift.  Don't know about it being used as a Skateboard since there is very little control on it, although it is the first of is kind, so it still has a long way to go.
