I dedicate this song to my 2 children in memory of their father who passed yesterday. He loved them dearly but just couldn't fight his demons to truly show them. This song is so beautiful & perfectly fitting for his life. Larry, we will always remember you. ♥️

I believe it was 1985 or 1986, a fatal accident happened about ten minutes after I passed the spot where it happened, and this song was on the radio...the victim was a girl who was a few years behind me in school, Belinda...her mom was a columnist for our local newspaper, and wrote a column dedicated to her daughter's life...in the column she mentioned that "If You Remember Me" was Belinda's favorite song...so this will forever be Belinda's song to me!

Gorgeous song.
Chris is still with us at age 75.
He also was the lead singer of Manfred Mann's Earth Band, and yes, he sang the vocals on "Blinded By The Light"!

My husband and I met in 1979; this reminds me of him. But we made it so much in love. He passed in 2015, and it was the saddest day of my life.

This morning I accidentally stumbled across this incredible song, after so many years. I remember watching TV one night way back, and seeing Chris Thompson give a spectacular live performance, with the great Marvin Hamlisch on the keyboards. I cried that night, and I cried just now... I guess it's the sheer power of a beautiful melody that strikes so deeply into the soul.

This song is a masterpiece! Has both sad sound and a sound of Hope. Memories of early 1980 come flooding back for me

Sadly this song didn't do as well on the charts as it should have. It was one of my favorites and in late 1979 I would play it as often as I could. I thought Chris sang it wonderfully and the message was sad but beautiful. This song reminds me of the love of my life who died in 2018, "Wherever you go, My love goes with you."

I lost my first born son to suicide just 5 months ago. I believe this song describes the situation perfectly. He really did try to love us all. He simply just got tired of trying. I will miss him until the day I'm where he is.

This is a special song. Fall ‘79. Love it. I can’t say I’ve heard it on Sirius. It just feels like you had to know it back then.

I had forgotten about this song until I heard it played the other day. It was the first time I had heard it in a very long time. It's a wonderful song.

Let's 1979, I rekindled a relationship with "the one" who stole my heart. Having gone through school together from grade one, we knew each other fairly well. But time would prove that she would find those "promises and lies, to many times", just to fulfill her cheating ways. This song today describes my 25 year marriage to this gal. My heart still beats for her and I miss her terribly. Even with all the lies and cheating, I would open my door tomorrow, if she were to knock!
I do believe my love goes with her everywhere she goes. I think she knows me to well to think any different. It's been 17 years now since she left me (and soured our 4 kids minds) but my love for her hasn't changed. The real "her" needs to find herself, once again. Come back to reality and stop warding off what really real love. (from me and the kids)

It has to be it wouldn't hurt so bad still. If not Chris it would be Dan Hill and songs the like, that sustain me. Guess I'll go on never Fails!

I lived this song back in 1979/1980. I heard this beautiful song on SiriusXM 70s on 7 today. I had not heard this song since the late 70s early 80s. Great memories, BUT Ive been happily married since the First Day of Spring 21 Mar 81.

I remember a short blip of time in fall of ‘79 when this was a pop song. It really struck a chord with me. What a great great song. It deserved more respect than it got.
