What is a Settlement Conference and is it Better Than Going to Trial?

This would be great if my wife had a spec of being reasonable in her. She looks at this as a win lose I look at this as a win-win as she should be more reasonable for the greater good no children are involved, but a lot of damage has been done. She spending thousands on an attorney thinking they are going to rewrite New York marital law.
