Average Morrowind directions;
- make a wish by a river
- walk towards the sun until it sets
- find that one rock in a literal field of rocks
- turn 180 degrees and walk for 3 and 1/8th days
- you'll know you're near when you see a scrib looking pensive

also the way we received directions IRL before GPS was a thing...often those invoolved landmark businesses that had "burned down " 10 years before.

Man starts attacking a person after being confused by directions

It's things like this why I love Morrowind. It feels very authentic.

Never played Morrowind but I respect how little interest it seems to have in holding the player’s hand

I personally enjoyed the Morrowind way of telling directions. Sure, I probably don't have enough patience for it now, but back then I felt like a detective or lucky man everytime I pulled it off. Though I remember one quest that you had to have locate object spell and search an entire arid ashland.

Before way points where you actually had to read and in lots of cases pay attention to the actual dialogue. Morrowind remains in my top 3 games, glorious bug ridden masterpiece

I remember being 13 years old when I first played this game. I would get so lost with the directions, I just ran around town to lift the map fog then check the map for the entrance marker I was looking for 😅 it's all part of this amazing games' charm though, glad you are playing it Luality

Before the age of questmarkers you learnt that map like it was real life 😂

Many a True Nerd held his annual Democracy Day to determine his next major let's play a few weeks ago and Morrowind managed to just barely beat Baldur's Gate 3 and now suddenly half of the YouTubers I've been subbed to for years are all collectively starting fresh playthrough of Morrowind at the same time?

Trends start somewhere. The people voted. Welcome to the Morrowind Winter.

That’s my all time favorite! When I was in middle school/early high school and that game came out. My little brother and I would often just give up on the directions and just explore the world. It was good!!

Finding the Cave of Moon and Star has me going and forth in that damned mountain range every goddamned time! Doesn’t help that by that point in the game I generally have permanent levitate enchantments so finding a specific brown door in a mountain full of similar colored rocks is a pain in the ass!

Ow no. No no no no.
The pain is coming back.
"Left at the crossroads? LEFT AT THE CROSSROADS!? What constitutes a crossroad in this desolate, godforsaken land???!!!

Safe to assume the plasa rather than the destination is what's near the south gate, but if only part of the city is walled, the city has multiple walls, or the city has a keep/citadel then it is entirely possible to ride north until reaching the south gate.

When I binged the entire Final Fantasy series for 14 months (22 games) I’ll admit I used a guide for FF1-12 because otherwise I would have spent twice as long playing each game individually just to beat them.

How I managed to do any form of quests is a mystery. NSEW still confuses the shit outta me 😂
