How to Knit Granite Stitch

Granite Stitch cleverly uses Increases and Decreases to create a really fun and interesting texture.

At only a 4 row repeat, this pattern is quick and easy to get to grips with. The rows of K2tog (knit two together decrease) and kfb (knit front back increase) are perfect for beginners to practice getting to grips with these techniques, whilst still achieving a useable project.

Very interesting concept. Decreasing to half the stitches and recovering same on the following row is simply fantastic. I love the texture created. TFS! ❤

Hi Laurelin.
Absolutely love your channel! I also like knitting baby blankets, and your patterns are so simple but well-executed.
I have an idea for you. I need to make a play blanket for a toddler for farm animals. I was thinking of different patches for different animals, but I don't want to knit separate squares with different patterns. Do you have any ideas?
