I've read Meditations two times, now reading Seneca's Letters to a stoic. Then aiming to delve into Epictetus' Discourses. Really fond of life philosophy.

The power of now is better for a beginner wanting to put in the work. Meditations is not a good read for people new to self development. Stoicism is easily interpreted as callus and prevents people from digging deep to understand themselves rather than repressing their emotions. But if in the right frame of mind a wonderful book.

I have just finished reading Richard Branson autobiography and wanted to read Odyssey next to go to a mythology and epic stories to unwind a little, but your YT short poped up I looked into the topic and I'm gonna give it a shot. The book you will arrive tomorrow. I'm interested to lean how this powerful man saw the world and how his ideologies might change my perspective of the world and my daily encounters.

I had it after the Kybalion in 2018, since then stoicism and hermetic laws transformed my life . Social media platforms and it’s hungry sellers over used it’s content as a form of attraction for pages / profiles etc in a context far way from know thyself. I do agree with you, a book like this should be mandatory in only schools and required like a final test about the content, so our society mostly probably will no longer have the evil things or people like Edward Bernays around

Been meaning to read this for a long time but i definitely will bump it up after seeing this.

Everything you said just now is very true, though. Even taking something as basic as a cup, we call it a cup because someone at some point decided to call it that and all of us agreed upon it and put it in the dictionary as something that holds liquid, etc. I mean, we can always wear it on our heads and then call it a hat 😂 so calling it a cup is still just a perspective
