Fashion Friday 4 I Working Women’s Wardrobe I Dos and Don’ts I Sapphire I Ask Aamna I AHI

AHI is Aamna Haider Isani and will bring to you the life, style and soul of my life.

The word AHI may be the acronym of my name, but it independently stands for a species of Hawaiian Tuna. Ahi is an apt name for me. As a Piscean, fish is my symbol and water my element.

But this channel isn't about astronomy. l'll be tapping into my 20-year career as a fashion journalist to cover fashion as a source of self-expression and body positivity. We'll have a little bit of fun in shows like Fashion Fortnightly. I'll be connecting with fashionable creatures in Meet the Muse and reviewing fun, new products in the short FIR - First Impression Review. Aamna 101 will take you into my life while The AHI Icon will bring you an exceptional person, whose story inspires.

Wonderful guidelines provided for those who work in different fields. The best part I liked was where you emphasized employees not to wear revealing clothes. Hats off to you for educating the masses. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Notice when travel in Pakistan people do not wear hats in heat, they warped clothes, when wearing hats can give coverage and keep the sun off faces! Plus, there cooling strips that can be used ! Hats should be encouraged for women by designers with gauze attached scraps !

I think that co ords sets are more like lounge wears or for running some quick errands. I have a army green linen coord set, and i love that its very easy to style and easy for a quick mall trip or a walk in the park.❤ I'm not a fan of printed ones. Its just too much.

Asak Aamna. I am really liking your fashion Fridays. The topics are on point and much needed. Would it be possible for you to get someone on your channel maybe once or twice a month and talk about makeup and skincare as well? I can’t find any makeup influencer with our skin tones on YouTube that want to follow. Maybe someone has suggestions??

As usual, very sane advise Aamna specially for work environment. Also, please don’t wear too many floral prints and just keep it simple & smart ( solids geometrical prints) . Also, for office parties dont go too crazy as there’s still a professional decorum & you have to go back to work the day after. You still want to be seen as a serious professional to be seriously considered. For xample, a guy may want to take off his tie but not his blazer for an office party, a girl may want to wear slightly higher heels, or a slightly more colorful outfit or leave her long hair open. It’s still work related & everyone needs to remember that.

Very nice and informative episode, Amna! To tell you the truth, I have always avoided wearing white, but for the first time ever, I chose to wear white to my daughter's graduation dinner, and apparently, it looked great!

Amna i am a bit surprised that you don't appreciate jeans on workplace, i am an engineer, used to work in UAE, and mostly ppl in IT software department will wear jeans, they will incorporate it with their jackets, blazers, buttoned shirts, but jeans were everywhere. Very few ppl i saw wearing dressy pants or pant suits. And i agree a simple wristwatch is a classic and timeless.

Aamna i'm a doctor who wears abaya and veil to job. I have only recently started bothering to put more effort into looking more presentable but eventhough i've gotten a lot better, i still suck at fashion.
I would love a video on how to carry hijabs/abayas for different occasions like workplace, formal events like seminars and annual dinners, casual friend meetups and lunches, summer beach friendly, Northern area trip hiking friendly, party wear.
I would love to know which footwear and bags to pair each abaya with. Which colors go together. Which fabrics to go for. How to layer abayas in winter and how to style them with boots etc.
I don't know whether i'm asking the right person but you're The Fashion Guru. I dont know anyone else who could give me a better fashion advice. And knowing you used to live in Saudia for a while and also i love Mahwish's styling so maybe you could do an episode with her.
Honestly i'm not a person who's usually that bothered with other people's perception of me but recently wearing an abaya is usually taken as someone being outdated, oppressed and poor and that bothers me a lot.
People have told me they're surprised i watch sports or that i speak in a way which tells them i know good english (whatever that means) which is apparently different from how i look. Strangers are always surprised upon knowing i used to go to kinnaird or that i'm a doctor and i come from a family full of doctors. If i dont wear a white coat or scrubs at hospital, i'm usually presumed to be an attendant rather than a doctor.
All of this and a lot more has often bothered me and i want to put an end to this. Please help me out.

AoA. Aamna i really like your take on fashion. And this episode on working women wardrobe was so enlighting. Can you please make an episode for home makers as well? Like how should they be styling themselves in this day and age of fast fashion. It gets really tough to create a personal style while staying at home and specially in early years of motherhood. Please share some tips for us stay at home moms as well. Thank you and best wishes. 😊

Why pakistani dramas only show women wearing pants and shirts in offices? Wrinkle free clothes are the best especially in western countries, we prefer not too short but knee short kurtas with pockets. Are they going to open sapphire in Virginia? Hand embroidered clothes with sparsely separated bootis or on borders of shirt, light embroidered. . Small Ajrak scarfs on chiffon. Yes the size needs to be standardized. Most of them xl and xxl kurtas full sleeves are not loose from arms.

Follow SH for all the reviews, agree with some of your wardrobe do's. Unfortunately in the name of feminism, some of the choices do not work in corporate working environment. Budget buys- 👍
