CFD simulations about cooling a Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell PEM and its stack in Ansys Fluent

Fuel cells are one of the most promising solutions for replacing the internal combustion engine. They are considered one of the most important renewable energy sources.
Cooling techniques can be numerically developed using the CFD tools. In this video, a simple technique is shown to cool the fuel cell single cell and the stack using ANSYS Fluent.

Hello. I am Seoultech Univ. student. I'm enjoying your video. Could I ask you a question?
There is no PEM in a Fluent program.(33:31) Isn't it always on Ansys 20 version????

congratulations on the video. I have a question. Have you ever tried to make a solid oxide electrolyzer? What changes in the setup?

Hello Sir,
The video was very helpful.
I have 2 question please ;
1. - The mixture composition should be indicated by given mass fraction of both H2 in anode channel and O2 in cathode channel as well as the composition of water flow with in the PEMFC system, particularly through different cathode layers
2. Gas flow is co current flow or counter current.

hlo sir, i have a question. why r u running simulation only for 150 iterations? what if we keep it running for 2000 iterations, will it give same result?

When you added coolant, output power was expected to be increased. However, current density decreased from 0.21 to 0.2 because of the loss of the collector mass.
How could we cool and increase the performance on the same time ?

Dear sir,
I enjoyed your video very much. I have some problems need your help. What are the conditions for the problem to converge? and how is the meshing method for the results to be accurate?
Thank you for helping me.

Hello sir, I have a problem in setup-fuel cells and electrolysis . I made porous jump but I can't find it in PEM Feul Cell Model - contact resistivity. Can you give me a solution about this problem?

Hello sir,
thanks for the tutorial, can you suggest how to to do two phase simulation in PEM fuel cell.

Very good video! May I ask how to set the porous jump? They doesn't show in the PEMFC Advanced tab

Hi, thank you for sharing your tutorials.
I am performing some simple simulations with a single cell and a straight channel but the current density of the cathode falls to zero after few iterations. How can I face this issue? Thank you

Hi, thank you for teaching. I'm using ansys 2024 student version, and i cant find same menu at 36:28. Why is it different with your ansys?

Hello, sir! Thank you for this detailed explanation. I even analyzed it with a cooling model, but I have a question in the porous-jump setting.

At 27:46, the top of the gdl naturally divides into three parts, but it's not divided like that in my model. So I made the entire top side porous-jump, but it can't be analyzed. When designing a model with an inventor, did you design the top of the gdl separately?

Thank you very much for this tutorial. My graduation project was about sofc analysis, i think i can use these informations to set a sofc analysis. Thank you very much again

Hello sir, I'm graduate student major in mechanical engineering. I use this PEMFC model too. I evaluate Springer's ion conductivity model formula. Do you change this formula or use the default value?
I would appreciate it if you could reply.
