ER closures, wait times impacting Canadians' access to essential care

Canada's emergency rooms are continuing to struggle to provide essential care across the country, with some forced to close yet again over the weekend, leading to added problems for those seeking help.

While ER delays are not a new issue in Canada, experts say long wait times and closures are climbing at an unprecedented rate.

As Jamie Mauracher explains, there are growing concerns Canadians will be left scrambling for help when they need it the most.

Normally when you pay for something upfront and dont get said service you get your money back.
We need to start throwing people in jail for mismanaging so bad. Set an example.

It’s to bad that Canada spent most of the tax payers dollars into tracking and prosecuting it’s citizens.
The rest went to fund a foreign war that we have no business being involved in.

Now we can’t afford healthcare and doctors flee the country like rats from a sinking ship.
A whole lot of good a public health care system is when you can’t use the services you pay dearly for. Some of us pay way more than others yet can’t even find a family doctor when we move to a new area of the country.
Public health care is no less of a sham than a private health care system.
At least in a private healthcare system you know exactly what you pay for insurance.
How many of you in Canada actually know what you pay for public healthcare.
I believe not one of you knows.

We have a leader, who is an idealist rather than a pragmatic leader.

I had one bad judgement..tripped and got black eye...my kids wanted me to get checked ..I knew it was from my own negligence so against Dr's orders I left... told them to clear room for ppl who need it...funny thing is..the waiting room and being seen was fast ...granted this was 3 weeks ago but....

Most people in the ER don’t need to be in the ER. I’ve yet to talk in and fined ten people bleeding out

So treat EMERGENCIES and send the people with hang-nails home!! Too many people are treating the ER like a doctors office ow walk-in clinic - the systm needs to kick them out of the ER!

Not sure complaining about single tier government healthcare is realistic or even newsworthy.
