The film didn’t end the Guardians.

It CELEBRATED the Guardians.

The ending is beautifully done. It bid goodbye to these characters we've watched for the last 9 years in a way that's not killing them off.

It all began with a dance and it ends with a dance.

The grandpa hadn’t seen Peter in decades and still knew him instantly.

The first one ended with happiness
The second one ended with sadness
The third one ended with happiness and sadness

Drax - Forgoing his ways of violence and rage to becoming a father again
Mantis - Finally taking the opportunity to discover something for herself after only being a helper to others
Gamora - Free of Thanos and finds people who care for and support her
Nebula - One of the most damaged characters in history able to find peace and give people like her what she never had
Peter - Is able to move on from what he lost and attempting to make the remaining time with his family worth it
Rocket - Someone who was only created as a tool so that "greater" beings could be made afterwards is now the leader of the guardians.
Couldn't have thought of a better ending.

It’s cathartic how Vol. 2 ended with Rocket silently crying over the death of a friend and Vol. 3 ended with him loudly crying out in joy about finding a new purpose in life

This ending does a great job wrapping up everyone's arcs, but man, Nebula and Drax REALLY hit me hard here. We see Nebula really smiling for the first time. We see Drax finally dance, but that's really just an external way to show that he's a dad again. The two characters I didn't think were gonna steal this movie, in fact, did.

Thank you James Gunn for giving us, not a team, but a family.

It's a meme how many movies end with a dance parry, but this one was well deserved

One thing I appreciate about the final film of the series is that it didn't focus on mending Peter and Gamora's relationship. Instead, it aimed at resolving some deeper issues for the characters. It focused on familial love rather than romantic love and an overarching theme of finding a home or finding yourself. That's why each character conclusion is so satisfying. They each come to their own realizations and face the challenges that they've probably been avoiding their whole lives.

This scene will hit me hard forever. About a month after my best friend and I saw this movie, he passed away. He was a father of two, and I always joked around calling him Drax, and he always compared me to Star Lord and our other friend to Rocket. Rip Leo, just like Drax, you were a good friend and a great father.

A freaking Raccoon, Tree man, and Aliens dancing to Florence and the Machines somehow makes me so grateful for my family and makes me want to be a better dad at the same time.

To see, Peter walking all alone is very an Emotional moment. He finally goes back to Earth and see the last family he saw at a young age, After his Mom passed away for a long....His Grandpa again both embrace each other, Got me crying.

Can we take a moment to appreciate Groot sharing a dance with Rocket who isn't just his adoptive dad but also his dad's best friend? That to me is the absolute sweetest part of this entire scene. 🥹

Greatest way to end this trilogy, the song choice, the dancing, the wild howling, the reintroduction of old family. Gets me every time.

not ashamed to admit this ending makes me cry my god damn heart out every time i see it. easily the best thing the MCU ever did, maybe one of the best trilogies in movie history?

For as many beautiful moments as there are in these closing minutes, it's the look on Peter's grandfather's face when he recognizes him that gets me the most. This elderly man, who lost his daughter to illness, and within minutes lost his grandson to the unknown, spending so many decades wondering what happened. Pete's tiny, "hi grandpa" still chokes me up.
