Re-upped & tweaked, remastered from CD-4 quad vinyl. My most favorite Carpenters song... Incredible arrangement, orchestration, a fuzz guitar solo, and Karen & Richard's voices overdubbed into a multi voice chorale... I hope you enjoy this rare version!

One of the great tragedies of the 20th Century. I was 19 when Karen Carpenter died, yet I still mourn her and I'm now 51! What a voice and what a band!

I always thought this song was so underrated by fans and radio alike when it was released. This is a super song that somehow makes me think Karen felt this song in her heart more than we knew at the time. Miss her so much. No one else like her before or since she left us.

Every time one of my guys talks smack saying " The Carpenters " were too " vanilla " for their taste, I casually mention that this song was the actual FIRST " Power Ballad " that all rock groups have made standard.

One of the greatest songs ever !! 2:25 onwards is the whole of the 70s jammed into one guitar solo 🎸music will never sound this good ever again.

Indeed! This is a Carpenter masterpiece. I still have it on A&M reel-to-reel @ 7/12 ips from 45 years ago! Interesting to hear the CD-4 quad LP version in a 2 channel mix. Sad to think that Karen passed away 35 years ago already...
Thank you for taking the time to put this together with a perfectly-synched video montage and great HQ audio!

This is the best video that I have seen of “Goodbye To Love”. The Carpenters were definitely an incredibly talented group and Karen Carpenter had an amazing, unique voice. Sadly, she had an unhappy life and died way too soon.

From the drum started right before the long 'AH' to the end of the song, it is just ... Best of the best!

we always lose the beautiful people, talented and extremely professional, every Dad would have loved to have Karen as his daughter, just be honoured we can still hear that flawless, mesmerising voice, Karen still has the finest voice of any female singer

Richard Carpenter the “Genius” he always never disappoints and has such an amazing paint brush using God’s music!
Karen was the “Angel” that sang out of God’s Light!
Thank you for this amazing musically journey and the soundtrack to so many lives!
Karen Carpenter is period “The best female vocalist “ EVER! Can’t be touch. Let’s not forget her genius brother Richard Carpenter producer, composer, musician extraordinary!

Whenever I try to refuse when my aunts and uncles ask me to do something for them like washing dishes I just keep in my mind that the music of their decade is way better than today.

The best upload of this on YouTube. Contains great live footage of Karen, the band and of Tony Peluso's ground breaking fuzz electric guitar solo - infact two of them (1.28 and 2.52) - including the extended fade out at the end. The stills you chose are great too and complementary unlike some on YouTube, designed to overemphasise her eating diosorder and obsess about it.
This by contrast is tasteful, respectful and a great tribute to her and to this phenomenal song.
THAAANKS!
