Missingno - Pokemon Fact of The Day

For some reason, my uploader comment no longer appears on the top, so here is an explanation on the Missingno/Cubone/Kangaskhan theory:

"I've already noticed tons of people talking or asking about the fact that Missingno is some kind of Kangaskhan/Cubone connection. As I've explained in the video, this is very unlikely. Missingno takes up over a dozen of the game's extra slots, not just a single one. The reason 'M evolves into Kangaskan is because it is one of the first Pokemon in the game's internal indexing. 'M can also evolve into Rhydon (first in the index) as well, making it even more unlikely that there is a connection."

My new Fact of The Day video explaining the existence, effects, and cause of the Missingno glitch phenomenon in the first generation of Pokemon. Enjoy!

I wish Pokemon games would intentionally include Missingno with a similar encounter method as an easter egg. It's such a cool part of series history.

In Pokemon Go, you can catch a Missingno by throwing your phone into the ocean.

I caught a Missingno and didn't tell my friend when we hooked are gameboy's up to battle. I sent it out against his Venasaur and the Missingno converted his Venasaur into another pokemon that I can't recall. After the match, his blue version said it was corrupted and thus the Missingno did in fact ruin an entire saved game.

MissingNo is Poké-Satan. Infinite Master Balls and Rare Candies in exchange for your immortal soul.

This video literally shaped my entire online persona. Every username I’ve made since this video has been under Missingno. I specifically remember where I was when I saw this video. It was on my iPhone 3G after baseball practice. What a domino effect.

If you want to know the song used it the background when he's talking about Misssingno. It's Mt.Coronet! If you search it up, click on the 30:00 minute extended version.

I remember back in the day, me and a friend went Googling to find out what Missingno was. Somehow, we stumbled onto what I'm assuming was some sort of fancomic or doujinshi which supposedly told Missingno's origin story.

The main character was the Old Man's grandson or something, and the Old Man himself was a former researcher at the Pokemon Mansion. Missingno was supposedly some sort of failed experiment that escaped into the water along the coast, and the Old Man wanted his grandson to go catch it.

Originally, a baby Kangaskhan who lost his mother became a cubone. The creators wanted Marowak to evolve into Kangaskhan but thought it be too much so they just decided to get rid of the data, turning out to be MissingNO. & That is why MissingNO evolves into Kangaskhan. Pow! Mind=Blown

Am I the only one who thinks it would be cool to add MissingNo in later games?

If missingno scrambles graphics, do you think he is 'scrambled'? Could we rearrange his pixels and reveal his real form?

MissingNO is what made me fall in love with video game glitches and their exploitation.

6:40 Actually, it does seem very possible that Missingno was intended to fill space of deleted Pokemon. It has been stated officially by Nintendo that there were originally 190 Pokemon, but only the designers favorites made into the first game. After the hexadecimal number 190, it fills with glitch trainers instead of Missingno. Missingno is also spread out, and doesn't just occupy 152-190, but occupies various numbers like 32, and 160. So, Missingno does just fill removed Pokemon.

To be more precise, MissingNo, as well as 44HY, Q, hPoke, and several other glitchmons in Red, Blue and Yellow were Generation 2 Pokemon they planned to include, but due to memory restrictions, had to be scratched. Glitch attacks, like TM 42 or TM 55 are speculated to be Gen 2 moves that were also scratched. I remember hearing about a removed HM, that affects the overworld and says "Ground rose up somewhere".
