Disney Is Shutting Down Blue Sky Studios!

It’s been revealed that Disney is going to be closing down Blue Sky Studios in April. The animation studio is behind many big animated hits for 20th Century Fox including the “Ice Age” franchise, “Rio”, “Horton Hears A Who” and most recently “Spies In Disguise”.

There has been a cloud hanging over the animation studio since the Walt Disney Company purchased 20th Century Fox, as did Disney need a third animation studio, since they already have Walt Disney Animation and Pixar.

According to Deadline, there are 450 employees affected by the studio’s closure and Disney will be working with the employees at the Greenwich, CT based animation house to explore open positions at the other internal studios within Disney. But the other animation studios won’t be absorbing Blue Sky Studios employees and operations.

No No No not definitely, no, they don't have the right to do that no, Blue Sky Studios must never close and quickly find a solution so that the blue sky studio continues to revive, no, there, I don't disagree and there is absolutely no need for Blue Sky Studios to shut down permanently as this studio is very important to the whole world and although I still love Disney I disagree - what they dare to do, no here i am against.

This legitimately frustrates the living hell out of me. Not only was Blue Sky an animation studio that actually had really strong and impactful movies, but it was also one of the last ones left that wasn't Disney or Illumination (and let's be real...a lot of their recent works feel soulless besides Pixar's Soul). There's a lot of work and heart in Blue Sky's movies, and it's devastating to see it go. I want to learn animation, and I remember seeing another comment but it's so true: I don't want my only options in the future to be Disney or indie. And the fact that people are getting laid off during the pandemic...it's just all wrong. I don't think Disney deserves them.

My entire life since I was 11 to 21 to watched eight films of Ice Age 1-5, Robots Horton Hears a Who, Rio 1-2, Epic, The Peanuts Movie, Ferdinand and Spies in Disguise. Especially an oscar's best animated features that Ice Age and Ferdinand got nomiated, I like it.

That's too bad Horton, Robots, Ice age (1-3), and both Rio (sequel is my guilty pleaser) are my favorite

And, Disney is separate??

With the older movies like ice age robots and ice age 2 they would have to take the 20th century fox logo out of the movies and probably have to edit the credits if they want to have a new animation studio and they would have to use the Walt Disney pictures logo pixars version
