I've had my Naza Lite / GPS for 3 months now and I'm getting a left drift also. I did a lot of my earlier flights in attitude mode for the first few minutes and then I would switch to GPS, so I probably have always had it and didn't notice it. I adjust the GPS for the magnetic declination and same thing. I can fly it for a minute or so and all of a sudden it will lock in. I agree with you, for the cost of this system, it should simply work.

fly it for a few seconds, put it in gps hold, if it drifts, land then disconnect main battery and plug back in and it should hold.
Also a good idea to let the model sit there powered up for 3 min before you fly it, let it pick up satelites regardless if the LED is blinking green

Hi David, Just been given some advice to adjust the GPS module pointing slightly to the right of center to achieve proper magnetic declination due to my location. If that doesn't work I'll try your advice although it seems a bit strange to have to jump through hoops to get it to fly correctly, for the cost of this FC system I expect it to simply work lol. Regardless, thank you for the tips, it's appreciated!

I find sometimes I'll have to unplug the battery a couple times to reset the fc, you have to wait until no red flashes before take off for it to lock properly, it actually can lock after take off and if you use the return to home function it will fly to that spot in space and stay there. one yellow flash for atti or one green for gps. Mine works properly 9 times out of ten now.

You can see the problem when you connect to a PC.
During IMU calibration where you get a reading of the X, Y and Z values of the gyros.
When the naza is started for the first time, I get an X value of around 2.5 which is way too much.
After 3 minutes of "warming-up", the X-reading will go to a normal value of 0.1
The problem is also described on the rcgroups forum.
You can find it in google with keywords "naza m lite drift"

I have exactly the same problem.
I always wait until the GPS sees all sattelites (only green or orange led blinking periodically)
and after the fast serie of green flashes indicating that the naza is ready.
Nevertheless, the first 3 minutes, the copter drifts strong to the right. (at alt mode and GPS mode)
After 3 minutes, the copter flighs perfectly.
I have tried stick calibration, compas calibration and IMU calibration but without result.

Mine also drifts to the right, strong for about two to three minutes. On my f450 frame, seemed rock solid, after swapping to a discovery clone looking thing, it has a hell if a time staying put. Up, down, right... Name it. 220 bucks and my 30$ kk2 takes off straight up at least!! Any advice, been trying tuning but to no avail...

Did you every correct the problem? What did it turn out being? I just finished building a DJI F550 hexacopter with the NAZA M Lite + GPS. I get the same thing but mine drifts to the right when I let go of the sticks. I show all green lights as well. Please let me know if you figured it out as I really want my toy to fly the way I believe it should ;)

The Naza M lite w GPS has issues holding position for the first flight, or the first few minutes anyhow. It is the firmware that is the problem, not the hardware. I've had several that would do this and once "warmed up" would lock in and hold just fine. Do a search here for "Upgrading Naza-M Lite to Naza-M V2 4.02 Firmware". Once you update your firmware the GPS hold will always be rock solid and it will fly much better.

I have my quad drifting to the right for about 3m then it locks. After flying a min. or 2 of flying, the drifting is gone. I always wait for the GPS green blink before takeoff. Maybe it's a thermal issue I don't know. Maybe the FC needs some warming up or so.

I replaced my gps module and problem solved, that and the adjusted declination.

I love naza but after having 5 different nazas, they either work flawless or there are problems, to me that seems like a qc problem! we pay a premium price they should all just simply work as advertised!!!! that's all we want dji make sure your equipment works before selling millions of a bad
