This is an upgrade I've wanted to make since I purchased my Triton bass boat. Lithium Batteries are reliable, maintenance free and are truly leaps and bounds more advanced than the old school traditional wet-cell batteries.

well you convinced me -- I ve got a tracker 170 (16.5 ft small aluminum bass boat) with a 24v TM on it and ive been thinking about these for awhile the two group 27s I have now are very heavy and they make a HUGE difference in the way my boat handles - it'll never be a fast boat but I really feel the weight of the third battery back there and your comparison showing what a difference it may in yours helped me decide -- for anyone whos considieing the same, as of 2022 NOV, they are having a Black Friday sale with a coupon code they send that seems to give $20 off EACH item so 2 of the 50 amp batteries and the custom aluminum tray came back at $60 less than the list price - so I went ahead and ordered them I cannot wait to try them out. With the current set up my boat has.a very hard time getting on plane the front end comes way up until I take it up to about 300+ rpm currently. I did not realize how much of a difference adding a third battery would make each of the intrerstate group 27s is almost 70 lbs thats a lot in the back of this little boat. -- thanks again for the great review and explanation. hoping they ship quickly I hate waiting!

Thank you for the reviewed, I’ve got mine last week and can’t wait for ice out here in the north states to try out my 2 125ah with the 24 volt trolling motor.

For what it’s worth, I’m looking into these batteries for my trolling motor setup and they now offer 11 year warranty as opposed to the original 5… that’s great news to me and those who were wondering.

Thanks for the video! I know of a possible stupid question. But finally I got my first boat and troling motor MINN KOTA TERROVA 80lb 24V. Lithium batteries are simply fantastic. The point is or two 12.8 V lithium 50 Ah lithium have the same power as one 25.6 V lithium 50 Ah. The weight of the boat is about the same, I'm not sure it will have enough power for fishing all day long. I live in the EU and a good quality German battery 100 ah is still very expensive.

I just ordered two of these and a 24vlt 80 pound thrust ultrex for my 16 foot aluminum rig and I’m excited to see how this setup performs.Thank you very much for the time and effort you put into this review.

Hey man, great video. It’s now January. Still loving them? How has the charger been for you? I have the 460PCL so should be even better if I decide to switch to lithiums.

Ordered three 50Ah ionic and one 125Ah ionic plus the charger and battery trays.

Aside from the weight reduction, one of the biggest advantages to using Lithium batteries is that your power at the trolling motor doesn't decrease as the battery charge goes down, the way it does with any of the lead acid batteries. When your lead acid battery is down to 60% state of charge, you really notice that at the trolling motor...you have to crank it up to 8 or 10 to get normal response. With Lithium, you get full response all the way up until the battery is just about dead. I would have liked to see you put your trolling motor on max speed and run it for 30 minutes to an hour, checking the temperature of your wires and monitoring how much that draws down the batteries.

I hope your charging cable didn't get cut with them sitting right by the corner of the tray

It's not a placebo effect. The lithiums run at a slightly higher voltage and will maintain that power without running down. Minn Kota does say that their trolling motors will work with lithiums but not to run the TM more than 85% power for very long or you will risk damaging the motor!

I can't understand why the warranty is only 5 years. Others have warranty up to 11 years

You will feel like the trolling motor has more power because of the weight loss from the batteries.... ur boat isn't heavy no more... lighter equals faster

Great video...I'm ready to buy lithium battery. Ionic, one of not too many companys, offer deep cycle/dual purpose battery that I'm looking at. My biggest problem last summer was that I run out of juice after about 4 hour (grup31 SLA dual purpose) Currently On boat I have 2 x 12" Lowrance live Hummingbird, Solix 12, Fusion hub and motor starting. Not even use any live wells or other things! Are you using Lithium(or other) battery for that purpose? ..And I was looking in your videos for follow up reviews on Li batterys and boat performance after lighter battery installation. How do you rate them now...would you change anything? Are you planning to make "3 years after" video? Thank you!

Do you have to tell the minn kota charger that the batteries are lithium?

So after two years running how did the 50 ap hour size hold up to your 36v system? I was thinking of going 100 amps for ultrx 112!
