Spring Cleanup: cutting back my grasses with my STIHL trimmer

I tie my grass up with some twine and then use my trimmer to cut it back. Makes the clean up much easier.

I love my trimmer. I use it every fall to mow down my garden. I cut the 7' tall Joe Pye weed down with 4 cuts into shorter stem lengths to make gathering it into my yard waste recycle bin.

First time I got myself a hedge trimmer I got too close to the house & cut our telephone/cable line. Lol To this day I’m always watching out for wires near the house.

I love ornamental grasses in the landscape. They provide so much structure in the garden.
