Can we just thank Daniels for finding Ke Huy Quan and cast him in this movie? They literally caused this.

He really seems like such a precious, tender-hearted person. I'm so happy he is getting the recognition he deserves. He said he had to stop acting because there were no roles for him as an Asian actor. Instead he moved to working behind the camera on stunts. He came back to acting after watching Crazy Rich Asians. I hope that meaningful storytelling opportunities keep growing for all kinds of people who are too often overlooked in this country. I think that breaking barriers through entertainment like this is ultimately going to be how our society becomes better for everyone. We are all humans, and sharing our stories is how we can learn and, most importantly, feel this fact.

I don't care that there are hard working English actors that deserve it bla bla bla. Awards are about a performance, not some legacy, or what is due. Ke Huy acted like 5 different characters and moved around like Jacky Chan. There is really nothing else this year that can compare to what he did.

if he finally wins the Oscar, is going to be on of those iconic Oscar moments, and probably a standing ovation will happen as well... at this point, it's difficult to see anyone beating him at anything but BAFTA (they probably will go for Gleesom)... hopefully he sweeps the whole season... point is not only him, but he instantly becomes a symbol of how Hollywood ostracized POC and how little faith has in child actors (he was a complete scene-stealer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and in The Goonies, and his charm is still intact and bulletproof despite being over 50)

This is the comeback of comebacks(sorry Brendan). For real Short Round and Data are such icons. So happy for him. Oscar comes next!

Ke has been *killing it* at a lot of the various Critics Circle awards, and has gotten nominations at the Independent Spirit, Satellite, and Golden Globe Awards so far. Let's keep it going! Critics Choice, SAG-AFTRA, British Academy (BAFTA), and the Academy (Oscars): don't let us down and don't let him down! This man deserves the world!
