You can’t judge the best snow blower until it has been used for at least 3 to 4 years . Then you can tell if you purchased the best. A fancy paint job and decals won’t get it done when you have inches of snow on your drive

Trust me guys - There’s absolutely nothing worse than dragging’ a cord behind you while blowing snow. Gas powered here in Northern MN

I have the number 3, ariens deluxe 28. They remove snow just fine (live in MN and have handled up to 16 inches easy, higher it takes awhile). Problem I have had with it is the cheap gas cap has cracked causing gas to slowly evaporate between using it. Other problem is the choke broke off once which caused a hole in the actual gas tank and I had to have that repaired, luckily it was under warranty. It starts fine with pull string and the electric easy start. Just cheap plastic nobs on it, that is the only issue I have had.

Canadian Tire is selling a nice unit. It's called Certified, all steel construction and good engine. Generally under 800 bucks.

If you omit reviewing certain brands like the whole Honda line (cough) then for larger 2 stage machines Poulan, Troy built,  Toro,, and Ariens , ,  snow joe's "2 stage" battery powered machine is quite interesting odd ball as well

Troy built is nothing but a mtd maybe an ok unit, but far from the best imo, and they using cheep Chinese engines same as ariens, not a word mentioned of Honda or simplicity two of the best besides toro of course, but Honda has proven time and time again it owns the 2 stage world they have the best reviews of any brand and there performance and durability outshines any other brand in real snow conditions heavy wet slop

I'll stick with gas, my toro 3650 can handle practically anything, it's especially good on heavy wet and slushy snow, which is all we've had so far where I live and it cleans right down to the pavement, I also have two two stage machines a Toro 421 which despite it's size is unbelievably powerful, and an old ariens from the early seventies for anything two feet and over, the last thing I want to mess with is an extension cord, for years I had an electric lawnmower which wasn't bad but when I got my first gas mower that was the end of electric for me, plus I like to help my neighbors out which is impossible with these toy electric ones and they're not cheap either.

With the first four blowers on the list, I couldn't hear the operators cursing about the electrical cord being in the way because there was stupid music playing. As far as the TroyBilt, it has 6 forward speeds. The video would've been much more interesting to watch the operator using any speed above #1. Are all 6 speeds useable for the average human being? Next, a "Single Stage" snow thrower debuts within the top Five? Where do you live? In TOP four position, the Poulan Pro may be a respectable unit. In the number three position, the Ariens looks good until you read reviews about the "auto-turn steering" system constantly malfunctioning, causing the operator to fight to maneuver the machine. I don't know what is so special about the gearbox on the Ariens, I've had an MTD for 19 years with no problems from the gearbox. In number two position, the Craftsman? Where do you go for service on a craftsman? I believe Craftsman is currently put together from a combination of parts from other manufacturers. The name is riding on a reputation and that's likely all they're riding on. TroyBilt in the number one position brags about letting you "freewheel in a neutral position"; this is not unique or exclusive to Troybilt. TroyBilt says, "our chutes are made out of high impact, polypropylene polymer". That sounds impressive. However, this chute is not unique or exclusive to TroyBilt; the same chute is used on many different brands of snow blowers. You can recognize this "high impact, polypropylene polymer" chute when you see it and it is available on Amazon for the several different manufacturers it's routinely used on. This chute is used as OEM equipment for many brands other than TroyBilt. Who are these "Product Reviewers" that made this video?
